Large fields, filled with solar panels, is what most people think when hearing the word Photovoltaics. And this is fairly understood as currently large amounts of electricity are produced from Photovoltaics in ground mounted plants. A number of advantages of ground mounted systems contribute to this:
Unlimited scale. Provided that you have the relevant permissions from the authorities, the larger the plot of land the bigger the plant.
