Panels

Solar Panels are a form of active solar power, a term that describes how solar panels make use of the sun's energy: solar panels harvest sunlight and actively convert it to electricity. Solar Cells, or photovoltaic cells, are arranged in a grid-like pattern on the surface of the solar panel. These cells collect sunlight during the daylight hours and convert it to electricity. Solar panels are typically constructed with crystalline silicon, which is used in other industries (such as the microprocessor industry), and the more expensive gallium arsenide, which is produced exclusively for use in photovoltaic (solar) cells.

Solar panels are also assembled by depositing amorphous silicon alloy in a continuous roll-to-roll process. The solar cells created from this process are called Amorphous Silicon Solar Cells, or a-Si.

Solar Panels constructed using amorphous silicon technology, are more durable and thinner than their crystalline counterparts, but convert less of the sun’s energy to electricity.

REC PE Series

The new PE series from REC is our module of choice for a wide range of applications.
The REC Peak Energy Module delivers more power per square meter due to several design improvements, such as the introduction of three bus bars and improved contact between the cell and metal fingers, which improves the electrical flow. The modules are easy to install with made-to-fit cables and multiple grounding points. Easy to lift and handle, the modules have a robust and durable design, supporting a large mechanical load.

Committed to sustainability, REC modules have an industry leading energy payback time of one year. This is a result of innovations such as the new fluidized bed reactor (FBR) silicon production process which uses 80 to 90% less energy than traditional methods.

The REC PE series has been recently awarded with numerous accolades, one of which is the prestigious distinction of coming second in final yield among many contemporary module manufacturers in a year-long gruelling test by Photon, the leading industry publication. Read more here.

SOLON SOLBond

The Solon SOLBond is a brand new PV system specifically designed for metal roofs. The Solon SOLbond is manufactured using 72 monocrystalline or polycrystalline cells and weighs only 8.5 kg/m², making it extremely lightweight. This extreme low weight is achieved by eliminating the frame and using 3.2 mm of glass. The connection socket is rotated by 180 degrees to facilitate assembly and improve cable routing.

The modules are attached with an adhesive and are therefore also particularly well-protected against theft. It also is protected against corrosion with other foreign materials on the roofs. The module offers 10 year product guarantee and 25 year performance guarantee, and the adhesion is performed using a specialised compound developed by Sika® especially for this product. For suitable roofs, the adhesion comes with a 20 years guarantee, more than any other roof mounting system in the market at the moment.
